Big John’s dream became a reality when he opened Hudgins Holiday in 1982.
When you hear about someone leaving behind a legacy, it’s hard not to think of Big John. His bigger than life persona, in and out of the dealership, is what drew so many people to want to do business with him. It wasn’t just about selling cars, as much fun as that was, for Big John, it was about the relationships. So many in fact, that many of our customers today still reference how fun and entertaining it was to buy a car from him.
He has passed that on to sons, Art and Michael, and when you come to Holiday, its hard not to notice the pride they feel in carrying on the legacy their father left behind. As the speed and the hustle and bustle of this industry move at a rapid speed, it is nice to be able to come to work every day and have people have so much pride in working and doing business at Holiday, because unlike so many of the mega auto stores that change their business model to better serve themselves, we stay true to our mission of the customer and that relationship being number one. So many of his traditions and ideals still follow suit here today. A lot has changed since 1982, but our values and the way we take care of our customers will never change.
When you love what you do, it makes it easy to do business.
